Every month is dedicated to a particular tradition within the Catholic Church. The month of October is devoted to Our Lady of the Rosary.

The Rosary has developed over the centuries and consists of the practice of praying 150 Hail Marys and 15 Our Fathers. In an apparition, Mary appeared to St. Dominic and gave him the rosary in order for him to preach her “Psalter”.

The feast of the Holy Rosary is on October 7th and was originally know as Our Lady of Victory, to commemorate the naval victory in the 16th century that secured Europe against the Turkish invasion at the Battle of Lepanto.

With it being the month of the Rosary, I will be launching a rosary collection soon!

“The rosary is a long chain that links Heaven and earth. One end of it is in our hands and the other end is in the hands of the Holy Virgin…the Rosary prayer rises like incense to the feet of the Almighty.”

Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us!
