In the Catholic Church, every month is dedicated to a particular devotion within the Catholic faith. The month of April is devoted to the Blessed Sacrament and the Holy Spirit. When thinking of what makes the heart of a Catholic, these two give breath to a soul!
Let's focus on devotion to the Eucharist!
Every week, God gives each and every one of us 168 hours (167 hours outside of Sunday mass), to spend time with Him, to adore, worship and praise Him.
In today's world, society and the evil one is great at distracting us to fill our plate with a variety of things. When Christ isn't placed at the center of your life, your spiritual life may just find its place to the wayside.
How do you keep Christ at the center of your life?
Spending time in front of the Blessed Sacrament is one way in which you can learn to let the Lord show you the path of life He has planned for you. If you struggle in placing a priority on the Eucharist, beg God to "help your unbelief" for a greater fervor towards the greatest gift He has given us. The gift of Himself!
"In the end, how we approach the Eucharist is ultimately how we will approach our whole Chrisitan vocation. If the Eucharist is not the center of our lives, we are not truly living, because we are not rooted in True Life." - Father Andrew Hess
As you go about your daily lives, I challenge you to spend one extra hour this week in front of the Blessed Sacrament. God can do anything with the time you give Him, and it may just wreck your life!
Regina Caeli, ora pro nobis!
